Kolkata: Gokulam Kerala FC suffered their third consecutive defeat in I-League football. Gokulam was defeated by Kolkata Mohammedans. Muhammadans won by two goals to one. Gokulam scored the first goal in the 13th minute of the game through Abdul Haku, but the hosts won with goals from Abiola Dauda (67th minute) and Keane Lewis (90+2). Lewis scored the goal in injury time with seconds to go to give Muhammadans victory.
This is Gokulam Kerala’s sixth defeat of the season as they aim for a hat-trick of I-League crowns. Gokulam is fourth with 24 points from 16 matches. Gokulam had lost both the matches in the I-League before this. In the last match, Roundglass Punjab and in the previous match, Neroca FC had defeated Gokulam.
Kolkata Mohammedans is the ninth ranked team in the I-League. Gokulam Kerala have four games left in this season. Srinidhi Deccan is at the top position with 37 points. Gokulam’s next match is against Rajasthan United on Wednesday.
