Mumbai: The star auction of the first Women’s Premier League tournament was held in Mumbai today. Royal Challengers Bangalore bagged more superstars in today’s star auction. Undoubtedly, Royal Challengers Bangalore have come with superstars and are determined to win the first women’s IPL title. The auction was held at the Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai.
India’s Smriti Mandhana was acquired by RCB for the highest price in the auction. 3.4 Crores was the reward received by the opener. RCB is led by Smriti. As expected, India’s vice-captain was rewarded handsomely.

Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB are very strong in the first season. After Mandana, RCB spent the most money on 19-year-old India’s Richa Ghosh. RCB bought the wicketkeeper for 1.9 crores.
Among the foreign players, RCB spent the most money on Australia’s star all-rounder Ellycy Perry. (1.7 crores) Sophie Devine (50 lakhs), Renuka Singh (1.5 crores), Erin Burns (30 lakhs), Disha Kasat (10 lakhs) and Indrani Roy (10 lakhs) are the other notables of RCB. It is reported that Mandana will play for RCB in the number 18 jersey worn by Virat Kohli.
Mumbai Indians without giving up:
While Bangalore acquired the Indian vice-captain, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur was appointed as the captain by Mumbai. Mumbai paid 1.8 crores for the star who had a base price of 50 lakhs. But it is noteworthy that other teams did not put up the expected fight.
England star all-rounder Nadali Skaverin (3.2 crores) and New Zealand’s Amelia Kerin (1 crore) were also brought in by Mumbai. India’s Pooja Vastrakar (1.9 crores), Isabella Wong (30 lakhs), Amanjot Kaur (50 lakhs) and Yastika Bhatia (1.5 crores) are other prominent players who have made it to the Mumbai team.
Delhi showed strength:
Delhi were also active in bidding to land the best team. After acquiring India’s Jemima Rodriguez for Rs 2.2 crore, Delhi Capitals added Australia’s Meg Lanning to the batting line-up for Rs 1.1 crore.
India’s young opener and firework star Shafali Verma was snapped up by Delhi for 2 crores. Laura Harris, Jasiah Akhtar, Titas Sadhu, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Alysee Capsi, Tara Norris and Minnu Mani are also with Delhi.
Gujarat Titans and UP Warriors:
Gujarat Giants is the women’s team of Gujarat Titans who won the title in the first season of Men’s IPL. With Sophia Dunkley (60 lakhs) and Monica Patel (30 lakhs), Gujarat paid more to Australia’s Ashley Gardner. 3.2 crores was received by Ashley. Gujarat, who acquired Annabel Sutherland, also brought Beth Mooney to the team for two crores.
UP Warriors paid 1 crore to Shabnim Ismail. England’s Sophie Ecclestone gave UP 1.8 crores. UP added 1.4 crores to Tahila McGrath and 75 lakhs to Grace Harris. 1.4 crores for Devika Vaidya, UP has spent 70 lakhs for Alyssa Healy.
